The Led Sled

With social isolation, and everything being shut down, I’ve had more time on my hands than usual.

Fortunately I can work remotely, and I’m not sick. So, in my free time I’ve been getting the bike dialed in.

Last year, in june, a woman ran a light and t-boned my old road glide. Fortunately, I was not hurt beyond bruises. There was a witness and everyone was insured.

I healed and I’m back on a road glide. What can I say, I have a type. With the weather getting warmer and travel plans suspended, I’m spending more time working on the bike than riding it.

It is shaping up to be a black and chrome version of my old red and black bike. In 2016 I bought a special and spent a bunch of money blacking it out. It looked great, but I learned a bunch of things. Chrome seems to chip/scratch way less often. The lower profile sidewalls on the special really sucked compared to the cushier sidewalls on the ultra tires.

I tend to go on long trips, so having the extra room is nice.

So, it’s shaping up. I’m not sure what I’m doing this year. None of us are really. Maybe by the time it’s time for Sturgis, I’ll roll up that way again. In the mean time I’ll polish chrome and plan out some PA camping.
