neat picture

I’m not sure if this is just a photoshop job or what, but it looks neat…

And yes, its work safe.

we have clarity

This means that I’m not longer sick, but rather I’m addicted to my decongestants. I stopped taking them yesterday, so by friday or saturday I should be breathing easier and be well enough for the drunkening.

We’ll be going to Monks on Dec 3rd at around 4PM to celebrate. He’ll be 57. I’m going to call today and see if they do reservations. I suspect not, or if they do I’m a bit late in checking. So, expect anarchy and chaos. Still, a show of interrest would be nice to see so I can come up with a reasonable estimate.

The plan is this:
Meet at Monks around 4PM. Eat, drink, be merry. Make our way to south street, visit a few places and wind up at Ulana’s later. Feel free to show up at any point in the evening, I’ll have my cell phone on me if you need to check where we’re at.

holiday hangover

I spent most of the holiday sick. Not the “I drank too much” kind of sick. I had a cold that just made me feel like dying. Last night I forced myself to go out and paid for it today. Oh well, at least the rest I got over the last few days seems to have paid off. I’m definately getting better.

illness sucks

So, I’m back at work today high on sudafed, afrin, and whatever has taken residence in my throat. It hurts less to swallow today.

On the upside, it seems that when I donated blood last week, I signed up for the chance to win a coffee/espresso machine. Today when I came into work there was a Krups II Cafe Bistro on my desk. I can finally throw away that old, nasty coffee maker I have.

birthday plans

Ok, I’ve made up my mind. We’ll be doing Monk’s on sat 12/3 for my birthday. Since I imagine it’ll be busy, we can either get there early or late. I’m leaning towards getting there early.

Ganked from . What can I say, I love a good glass of wine, and truly I do like Pinot Noir. Given the choice, I’d rather have a Shiraz, but its all good.

pinot
You’re a Pinot Noir!
You’re a fruity red wine. Difficult to grow and
easy to screw up, you demand a lot from your
winemakers but are well worth the effort.
You’re seductive but no tease–you deliver
beautiful fruits and a velvety smoothness not
found in other reds. When you’re good, you’re
really, really good.

birfday

I was forcibly extracted from my mother on december 3rd.

Kat wants to celebrate my eviction and throw me a surprise party (she likes birthdays). Anyone feel like getting together? Fortunately for me I have a terrible memory so its likely to be a surprise when it happens. Then again, those of you at my last surprise party will recall me not cluing in to what was going on for the first hour or so. I thought we all just happened to be at the same bar on the same night….

Anyways, is going to be spinning at Ulana’s that night, so thats a possibility. Otherwise, I’m always up for going out to dinner. Not to be picky, but I’d prefer a better beer selection. Maybe we could go to monks then head over? That might work. Could both of my friends let me know if they feel like going? Otherwise Kat will pour me from Monks to Ulana’s and I’ll find people to harass on the way.

A weekend in NY

Kat & I went to the Bauhaus show on saturday. Originaly I went because she wanted to go. I didn’t realize I knew as much of their stuff as I did. The show was great. When they went off the stage I was like “what the hell?”. It felt like no time had passed. Turns out they played for almost 2 hours. Fun time.

A cool thing about the show was that there was a vendor outside selling live cd’s of the show. You’d pay for the copy, go watch the show and afterwards they’d give you a double cd in a nice jewel case. They had their own 42 track mixing board, the concert sounds great. I wish more shows would do this. Its a great way to make a little extra money and I have no problem paying for a copy of the show I saw. Lots of people feel the same way based on the number of people in line to turn in vouchers at the end of the show.

NY itself is always a joy to go to. Sure, the traffic sucks, but once we’re up there its always so much fun.
